32nd Annual Darien Road Race

Race Distance: 10-kilometer and 1.5 mile fun run.
Fees: $25.00 pre-registration, $30.00 race day
Background: The Darien Road Race has been run since 1979. The race attracts over 500 runners and
hundreds of families, other spectators and community organizations. Both races begin
and end at Pear Tree Point Beach and run along scenic waterfront roads.
Fundraiser: Now in its 32nd year, the race has raised more than $850,000 to support local community

Awards: Awards are presented to men and women in the following categories: 10K (6.2 miles), 1st, 2nd, Other Awards include: The Jim Fixx Award, presented to the runner who raises the most in contributions; BMW bicycle awarded to the individual who raises the most in contributions; Atria Darien Awards, to the oldest and youngest runners with best finish times in either the 10-K or “The Loop” events.
3rd, overall and in age category; “The Loop” (1.5 miles) – 1st, 2nd, 3rd overall.
